O.C. TANNER, OLOGY - WELLNESS

O.C. Tanner is the world leader in employee recognition. This issue of "Ology" (the study of things important to life at one great company) is all about Wellness. O.C. Tanner believes that if each employee can find balance in their Mind, Finances, Relationships, and Physical Health, the Company will be balanced and healthy.
REFILLOSOPHY
Here's something to ponder: every year, Americans send approximately 38 billion plastic water bottles to the landfill. Placed end to end, those bottles would circle the globe who knows how many times. I'm sure you get the drift, and so did O.C. Tanner. They wanted to encourage employees to do their part by refilling their "Refillosophy" water bottle with tap water and knock that water bottle tower down one refill at a time.
OLOGY, O.C. TANNER COMPANY

O.C. Tanner is the world leader in employee recognition. They came to us to help create an internal publication that would inspire and inform, and do it in an entertaing way. "Ology" is a title that suggests "the study of" things important to the O.C. Tanner culture. This first issue was all about "Greenability" -- this company was green before it was all the rage.
URBANA ON ELEVENTH
Urbana on Eleventh is a new development in Salt Lake City's Sugarhouse district just outside of the concrete jungle but with all the amenitites, stores, and restaurants within walking distance... Urban Lite. We created the visual identity, website and marketing pieces that helped pre-sell the condominiums even in this challenging economy. Todd Scurr did the naming and wonderful writing.
SAFARI STEAM
Even a carpet cleaning service deserves the royal design treatment. In a commoditized industry, name recognition is key (along with a generous "3 Rooms for $79.99" coupon). And with a visually "sticky" identity, Safari Steam is lodged as deep as you can get in the "need-for-clean-carpet" mind.
iARCHIVES
iArchives has some amazing technology that allows you to view and search traditional documents (like a newspaper) online. The "wow" happens when you see that document (in this case, that newspaper we mentioned) fully searchable and in its original context, complete with photos, advertisements, etc.
GREEN WITH WHIMSY

Green With Whimsy sells eco-friendly clothes and posters for kids and people who love them. Organic fabrics with light-hearted concepts leave a small footprint and a smile. Attention to details like recycled paper gift wrap ribbon and post consumer shipping materials help create that green and fuzzy feeling.

SAFEHOME, APEX ALARM
SafeHome security is a division of Apex Alarm. They sell reliable home security systems nationwide. Armed with a new division logo and sales/recruiting brochure, the executives were happily surprised to see their sales goals smashed. Good design helps another company rest easy... at least until the competition steals the design.
SURFACE, SNOW AND SKATE
Not just another superficial snow and skate company. Six logo variations give them some depth, or at least some flexibility. Letterpressed stickers are plastered on found materials for business cards, letterhead, and envelopes. Hours of fun and enjoyment.
SUPERFEET SHOE INSERTS
Talk about putting your best foot forward. Superfeet introduced a new line of shoe inserts designed for comfort—and specific shoe types. Custom packaging made these products look mighty inviting to the "tired dogs" of men and women everywhere. Created with the fine people at AND, with a talented creative director in Park City, Lesley Christoph, and of course with the lovely illustrator, Juliette Borda.
BIKES FOR KIDS

Every kid should have a bike. At least that's what this nice nonprofit group figures. They organize a charity ride with cycling star Dave Zabriskie and put on a bike safety clinic. After learning how to ride safely, 1,000 disadvantaged children receive new bikes and helmets. See, the world isn't so bad after all.
